History
Prior to the Amusement Park opening, the land was covered in Cedar vegetation, and the clear water of Lake Erie was great for the fisherman, the population of food for the residents. In 1860, during the Civil War, shelter for four field artillery equipment batteries was made and constructed at the tip of the Peninsula to guard the Confederate "person of war" camp on the close Johnson's Island.

When the war ended, Cedar Point resumed its role as a summer picnic area, and the initial park was constructed in 1870 where it still stands today, now geared towards Family fun. Don’t take my word for it; instead get a great deal with Cedar Park discount tickets!

Testimonial
The island is so peaceful, the rides are safe, and my kids had a lot of fun while we spent the weekend at the park. No typical amusement Park. Thank goodness I got the best deal possible for my tickets; I don’t think I could have gone if I didn’t.
